How to find a garden snail?

Corrinne Ruozzo: Look under a rock.

Bernie Cerra: Most snails are nocturnal so looking for them at night is important. After a rain, they are likely to come out in the daytime, however. Looking after a rainfall would help a lot. In California, they are often found in citrus groves and gardens as they feed on the organic material provided by gardens. So look in your garden at night or right after a rainfall for the best bet of finding one.
