Joaquin Dronko: Now the network was created and i gave it the following password : toinfinityandbeyondI used WPA-2 Personal as advised.Now the thing is when i open my friend's notebook, i can detect the network but when i try to connect (password already inserted), i get this error:Error: The network password needs to be 40 bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 to 26 hexadecimal characters.and i only have the "OK" button to press on that error window..I'm a little lost....Show more
Mitsuko Manne: i dont wanna have a open connection because someone else can just access it without any password. I want to password protect it but i dont know wether to use WEP or WPA2 access key

(you may get right here by using typing it on the beginning up menu). click on "handle community connection" on the left of the community and sharing cent! er. appropriate click on the on the spot community icon and decide residences. click on the sharing tab and verify the "enable different community clientele to connect by using this computing gadget's internet connection" this ought to do it.

Type a network name 6. Select the kind of security you want your ad hoc network to have but i would recommend using WPA-2 Personal7.
