Hilma Pestano: It could be the brakes or the belt on your car. If you need new brake-pads, you will hear a loud and annoying squeak until you stop braking.Sounds to me though like its a belt. If the belt is lose or torn, it will make a loud shreaking sound randomly. Wilbert Shellgren: The best thing to do is the next time you have your car in for an oil change just ask the mechanics to look for the cause of the noise and describe it to them so they have a clue what to look for. If it is something you have been noticing just lately then something probably has come loose or is wearing perhaps.
