Card Player or All in is available at most casinos. Pick up a copy and enjoy.Here comes the hard part, actually evaluating your self on your actual skill level. Are you really as good as you think or are there areas you should improve on, like patience for example. Im guessing that you are loose agressive and tend to chase a bit, or get into race situations. Most pros that play cash games will do none of that. They will wait for hours for the big pot and then get paid.Ok the next part, you said you want to g! et to $50, That seems to be a pretty low number to sustain a suitable living. Im also wondering what stakes you are playing at. For the sake of this response Im going to assume its 1-2 and more likely than not,no limit. If my above assumptions are correct try this, check out a pot limit or limit game. Its harder to go broke there and I find the tells are more noticible. Your opponent will (in some cases) make a series of reraises. This will give you the oppertunity so see more of his (or her) betting patterns and tells. By the time you get to the turn card you willl have a pretty good idea of where you are in the hand. And the bonus is that pot limit and limit tables have a bigger pot (using a per hand ratio) than the average ammount of hands played per hour than a no limit table. If you are serious about this you should try to put your time in while you save a bankroll, As a rule the bankroll should be 3 months salary. So grind the tables at night until you can save the mo! ney, then once you hit that magic number,resign and live the dream.But ! please remember, never EVER use more than 1/10th of your bankroll to play on.
