Rachal Osaki: Home theather sucks, because you have not said any sought of price range like if you said 10K then I would say when you are ready do it, at the high prices you do the resherch then go to a store and then start dealing if you said 1K then it is differnt, go to all of your friends who have done it listen to theres, then go to a small store, like a high end shop and buy speakers, Speakers are the most inportant part of anything recivers will change and change fast, but you can have speakers for a long time and just change the power going to them and they will sound better, but cheap speakers alway sound cheap, also a good speaker is not that much money, but buy from a good brand stay away from the bose all in one crap, over priced and not that good, it is all highs and so- so lows, very little smooth mid range that you really want also with speakers floor modles are a good thing, speakers if kept at the right temp will last, so save some money there good luck, ! if you want to ask me more just e-mail me, I have been reading and buying stuff for 20 years, and I do it for all of my friends just a hobby, good luck...Show more
Jefferson Sarson: It depends on your budget. "The Home Theatre in a Box" approach will cost less and has the advantage that components are pretty much equal quality. On the other hand the overall quality and flexibility to add/customize components is more limited than if you buy separates. Also keep in mind that no one company makes the best of everything ... and speakers in particular are the weekness in many budget systems. Obviously the disadvantages of separates are you need to know more about the components to be able to judge whether they match in terms of quality, etc.See the link for an article on this very topic.Personally, I would recommend against impulse shopping based on price for a "bargain" unless you know what you are looking for. And that requires some advance research and first of all defi! ning your needs. If you do go ahead look for a name brand like ! Yamaha, Sony, Pioneer, Marantz, etc.Good luck....Show more
