Bethany Blocker: In Chicago, it is more expensive than in the suburbs and surrounding area. Many people in the city don't even have insurance, so you better have a good one. In strip malls there is just-legal insurance for about $25 a month. Keep in mind that does nothing except for having proof of insurance. I would say good insurance around $1000 a year in most of Illinois (not in city)
